The MoU was signed by H.E. Munther Mohammed bin Shekar, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality and Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Executive Vice Chairperson, EESL Group.<\/p>\n<p>The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration across various energy efficiency and renewable energy programs in support of Ras Al Khaimah Energy Efficiency &amp; Renewables Strategy 2040 (EE&amp;R Strategy).<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the objectives of the MoU,<strong>\u00a0H.E. Munther Mohammed bin Shekar<\/strong>\u00a0said,\u00a0<em>\u201cThe Government of Ras Al Khaimah is committed to the successful implementation of Ras Al Khaimah Energy Efficiency and Renewables Strategy 2040. We welcome the collaboration with EESL, as their unique and vast expertise in energy efficiency can be relevant for us in developing effective projects across many sectors of energy efficiency and renewable energy in Ras Al Khaimah.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sharing his views on the collaboration,\u00a0<strong>Shri. Saurabh Kumar, Executive Vice Chairperson, EESL Group said,<\/strong>\u00a0<em>\u201cWe are always exploring new avenues for implementing energy efficiency initiatives that are sector- and geography-agnostic. This partnership with Ras Al Khaimah Municipality is a big step towards tapping the immense potential for energy efficiency in the Emirate. Our expertise in handling the world\u2019s largest energy efficiency portfolio and Ras Al Khaimah Municipality\u2019s local experience and technical skills will synergise perfectly to create lasting positive impact in the region.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Under this MoU, EESL, through its presence in UAE, will support Ras Al Khaimah Municipality in implementing clean energy and energy efficiency projects under its Integrated Energy Efficiency Service (IEES) model. This model includes integration of EESL\u2019s various programmes including the Consumer-based Efficient Appliances Programme; Industrial Energy Efficiency Programme; Building Energy Efficiency Programme; Utility-scale Solar Programme; Trigeneration; National Motor Replacement Programme; and National E-mobility Programme.<\/p>\n<p>The programme framework will be developed and implemented jointly by Ras Al Khaimah Municipality and EESL. EESL will make investments and develop customised project models relevant to Ras Al Khaimah. The collaboration is expected to develop and drive energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, as part of the Ras Al Khaimah Energy Efficiency and Renewables Strategy 2040. The Strategy, established under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, targets 30% energy savings, 20% water savings, and
