{"id":2514,"date":"2020-01-22T06:51:50","date_gmt":"2020-01-22T06:51:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rakmed.ga\/?p=1554"},"modified":"2022-06-15T04:42:46","modified_gmt":"2022-06-15T04:42:46","slug":"world-record-holders-and-champions-sign-up-for-ras-al-khaimah-half-marathon-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rakmediaoffice.ae\/en\/media-center\/news\/world-record-holders-and-champions-sign-up-for-ras-al-khaimah-half-marathon-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"World-Record Holders and Champions Sign Up for Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<strong>Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, January 22, 2020<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The organizing committee of the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon 2020 \u2013 the world\u2019s fastest half marathon \u2013 revealed its line-up for the race\u2019s 14<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0edition, featuring several world-class runners.<\/p>\n<p>Held at Marjan Island on February 21, 2020, the RAK Half Marathon 2020 welcomes renowned athletes such as Kenyan women\u2019s marathon world-record holder Brigid Kosgei, who broke the world record at the Chicago Marathon in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Also set to attend is South Africa\u2019s Gerda Steyn, the first woman to complete the Comrades ultra-marathon in South Africa; Mosinet Geremew, one of only five men to complete a marathon in under two hours and three minutes; Julien Wanders of Switzerland; and 10 renowned male athletes who hold personal best times under 59:30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The race is divided into categories based on skill and fitness level. Furthermore, this year\u2019s event will include the first-ever team race, and large discounts will be available for companies wishing to participate with teams of employees.<\/p>\n<p>Runners will be competing for a prize purse of AED1.219 million, distributed along various categories, including professional runners, UAE nationals and various age groups.
