The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has gained the respected ISO 9001:2015 certification for its administrative support services, the latest in a line of certifications, licensures, and accreditations that testify to AURAK’s excellence and commitment to quality.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification covers the provision of administrative support services including IT, financial, human resources, procurement, and facilities management. The certification runs until July 2023.
It demonstrates that AURAK operates a quality management system that complies with the scope of ISO 9001:2015. Granting this certificate to AURAK comes as a result of meeting the comprehensive quality standards in its administrative services, and as a result of the continuous development and improvement of its administrative performance, increasing productivity and providing the best services to its clients and partners, as well as applying strategic thinking in achieving the university’s goals.
The requirements of ISO 9001:2015 are intended to be applicable to any organization, regardless of its type or size, or the products and services it provides. President of AURAK Prof. Hassan Hamdan Al-Alkim confirmed that AURAK is keen to ensure the quality of its operations to meet the standards of the “ISO” certification. He added that the quality standards in AURAK’s administrative and academic services are constantly monitored through the Institutional Strategy and Excellence office, which coordinates with the all departments and schools at AURAK to develop their administrative performances.
AURAK is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) in the US, one of the most rigorous accreditations. All its engineering programs are accredited by ABET, the global accreditor of programs in STEM subjects.
AURAK is ranked 10th in the UAE and 50th in the Arab region by QS Ranking 2020, has an overall 5 Star rating for 2020 in QS Stars, and is ranked 26th in the World for Industrial Application and 96th in the world for Innovative Universities by WURI 2020.
