Emirates Environmental Group is pleased to announce the commencement of the 20th Annual Clean Up UAE Campaign to inspire nationwide environmental action

After many years of fostering educational and action programmes and community involvement, the Emirates Environmental Group is thrilled to announce the 20th Annual Clean Up UAE Drive under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. Registration is open, and this event invites all academic institutions, government bodies, corporations, families and individuals to put up a united front against environmental harm.

The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that ceaselessly strives to promote the crucial message that the environment needs protection and it is each individual’s duty to save it.

Through this event, EEG is providing an opportunity that invites all sectors in the UAE to learn the true implications of improper waste management and make this issue personal and to act and directly take part in promoting sustainable development and community recycling in the UAE. Furthermore activities including tree planting, workshops, recycling are being planned to celebrate the essence of the campaign.

The event is scheduled to take place over six pre-specified days starting from 6 Dec 2021 to 16 Dec 2021 in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah and several cities as well. The event will start from 8.30 am to 12.00 pm at all locations.

Mrs. Habiba Al Mar’ashi, the Co-Founder and Chairperson of Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) said: “As we celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the nation, EEG is proud to announce the start of our biggest yearly campaign, the Clean Up UAE campaign. After 20 long and successful years, the Clean Up campaign has grown to great heights through the help of passionate volunteers. These environmental protection efforts have recorded the participation of over 800,000 individuals representing hundreds of entities & institutions and covered an area of close to 1000 km2. EEG aims for these numbers to grow further in the following years. The Clean Up UAE campaign targets several of the Sustainable Development Goals as committed to by the UAE. With the expansion of the number of cities being involved in this year’s event, we hope to educate the masses to grasp the importance of united environmental action and initiate a safer and higher standard of living moving forward.”

The 20th Annual Clean Up UAE campaign will be held in association with Dubai Municipality, Department of Municipalities and Transport of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, Fujairah Municipality, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, Management of Saih Al Salam Protected area, and Ras Al Khaimah Public Services Department. The main sponsors are OASIS and ZURICH while McDonald’s UAE is the co-sponsor of this event. The Support Sponsors are Abu Dhabi Terminals, CANPACK, Dubai Investments, OUNASS and RAKBANK.
