Partnership Meeting of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Republic of Estonia to discuss ways of Reinforcing the Economic Cooperation and Development of Artificial Intelligence
H.E. Mohamed Ali Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ras al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and His Excellency Jaan Reinhold, Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to the United Arab Emirates, recently discussed ways to reinforce the bilateral cooperation in business and investment sectors to cope with the growing relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Estonia in the different fields. This was discussed in the meeting of the two sides at RAK Chamber of Commerce Headquarters during the visit of the Estonian delegation to the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The meeting was attended by Humaid bin Salem, Secretary-General of the Federation of UAE Chambers oPartnership Meeting of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Republic of Estonia to discuss ways of Reinforcing the Economic Cooperation and Development of Artificial Intelligencef Commerce and Industry, Board Members of the Chamber, Mohamed Hassan Al Sabab, Director General, Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting discussed the ways to enhance the mechanism for developing digital services, in a way that contributes to building advanced digital societies. in addition to exploring the investment opportunities in business sectors, tourism, industry, agriculture and commerce in both the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and the Republic of Estonia.
The meeting was also attended by H. E Roger Clasquin, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Maritime City, Ras Al Khaimah Ports, Mark Moody, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Al Marjan Island, Alan Boughourd, Ras Al Khaimah International Corporate Centre; and from the Estonian side Her Excellency Nele Leosk, Ambassador-at-Large for Digital Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Estonia, and Anett Numa, the Digital Transformation Advisor in Estonia. The two sides highlighted the key development projects and the strategic initiatives that shall be implemented in future.
H.E. Mohamed Ali Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman, Chamber of Commerce and Industry underscored the importance of increasing the cooperation levels between Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Estonia, through the mutual visits and signing of the memorandums of understanding and cooperation. He pointed out that enhancing the relations between the two side shall strengthen the economic and investment cooperation between the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and the Republic of Estonia, he valued the presence of the H. E the Ambassador and the accompanying delegation in this meeting, and stressed the importance of such meetings in developing the relations. He noted that the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is keen to develop bilateral relations with several countries across the world, which shall contribute to the sustainable development of the emirate in various key sectors particularly the economic and investment sectors. He added that it is important to reinforce and invest in the distinct business ties with the Republic of Estonia to meet the ambitions of the business communities for both sides and to increase the bilateral trade, resolve the problems and challenges that face the investors, he emphasized the importance of the such meetings in promoting joint cooperation in the digital economy, information technology, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and smart services across the all the economic sectors, as well as the field of digital infrastructure that serves achievement of the sustainable economic development for both sides.
His Excellency Jaan Reinhold, Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to the United Arab Emirates expressed his pleasure with the warm hospitality which he received and the accompanying delegation from the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and its officials, he affirmed his keenness to reinforce the partnership and looking for further business cooperation and to put a road map for more joint activities in future with the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah represented by RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He noted that reinforcement of the bilateral relations with the United Arab Emirates becomes a priority for Estonia, and today’s meeting is just a beginning of a new page for the cooperation between Estonia and the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, looking forward for more cooperation for building a better future together. His Excellency added that this meeting is not the first as there was a virtual meeting in last November with H. E the Chairman and board members of RAK Chambers in presence of the Ministers of Foreign Trade in UAE and Estonia, we were keen since the first meeting to reinforce the cooperation with all the local peers in UAE, and to exchange the experiences, since Estonia has a distinguished experience in the digital transformation for community, and is a global leader in the government digital transformation and the digital protection box, he further added that Estonia is a country that people don’t go to government offices, since all the necessary services are provided and finalized online.
His Excellency the Ambassador pointed out that the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is familiar to the Estonian citizens with its generous hospitality and excellent tourism opportunities, with nearly twenty thousand tourists from Estonia visit Ras Al Khaimah annually, as most of them found their way to the beautiful resorts of Ras Al Khaimah, from this point and for the common similar features between us, we are keen to enhance the cooperation between us in a way that contribute to diversification of the economy with the United Arab Emirates in general and the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in particular.
H.E. Nele Leosk, Ambassador-at-Large for Digital Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Estonia, stressed the keenness of the information technology companies in the Republic of Estonia to have presence in the region, she added that their participation in Expo Dubai shall be the beginning for fruitful cooperation, through which we shall tell Estonia digital success story and looking forward for further cooperation.
Her Excellency Anett Numa, the Digital Transformation Advisor in Estonia added that Estonia has a leading experience in developing state-of-the-art digital government services, which has positive effect on saving cost and time, and the same has been also achieved recently by the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah through strong steps to build modern digital services.
