Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce explore the Economic Partnership with Sri Lanaka

His Excellency Mohamed Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman, Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with His Excellency S. Viyalanderan, State Minister of Backward Rural Areas Development and Promotion of Domestic Animal Husbandry & Minor Economic Crop Cultivation in the Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka, accompanied by Don Siman Patapande  Amal Harsha de Silva, Secretary of Ministry, and H. E Nalinda Wijerathna,  Consul General of Sri Lanka in Dubai, and businessmen. The meeting was attended by Youssef Ismail, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Saud Bin Saqr Foundation for Youth Enterprise Development, Mohamed Hassan Al Sabab, Director General, RAK Chamber of Commerce. The meeting which was held at RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry Head office discussed reinforcing the traditional friendship and strengthening the joint collaboration, and boost the strategic partnership of cooperation between the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and the Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka. The two parties agreed to identify high levels of cooperation styles for the bilateral relations and collaboration in many sectors including the food security, food stuff trading, fruits and vegetables.

The two sides underscored the importance of motivating the businessmen to contribute in developing the relations between Ras Al Khaimah and Sri Lanka. They discussed the cooperation in industry, trade and tourism sectors, and exploring the available investment opportunities for both of them, in addition to discussing the collaboration opportunities, the joint partnerships in diverse economic sectors and how to pave the way for businessmen meeting through organizing joint events.

The meeting discussed the key competitive economic ingredients maintained by the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and the Democratic Republic Sri Lanka; the importance of collaboration in the exhibitions, conferences and organizing commercial events, in addition to highlighting the important events and exhibitions held and hosted by Ras Al Khaimah Exhibition Centre.

His Excellency Mohamed Al Nuaimi invited H. E the Minister and the accompanied delegate to invite the SMEs, investors and businessmen in Sri Lanaka to participate in the exhibitions organized by the Saud Bin Saqr Foundation for Youth Enterprise Development at Ras Al Khaimah Exhibition Centre. H E. Al Nuaimi highlighted the attractive incentives offered by the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah institutions to the businessmen from across the world, he pointed out that their participation in the exhibitions organized by the Emirate will offer them a great opportunity to identify the infrastructure and the facilities offered by the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to the investors such as the industrial areas as well as the other facilities offered to meet their needs. Moreover, H. E the Chairman of RAK Chamber of Commerce and H. E Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Saud Bin Saqr Foundation for Youth Enterprise Development affirmed to enhance the investment relations between the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and Sri Lanka which shall support the investors and contribute to growth of the trade exchange volume for the two countries.

His Excellency S. Viyalanderan, State Minister said that he and the accompanying delegation were keen to visit Ras Al Khaimah during their visit to the United Arab Emirates for the Emirate’s position and the investment opportunities across many vital sectors and also for its reputation in the tourism sector, which made them keen to support meetings of the trade delegations which shall accelerate performance of the business sectors in the different commercial, industrial and service activities. The Minister has invited H. E. the Chamber Chairman to visit the pavilion of the Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka at Expo 2020 to know the current opportunities and facilities that become available and have not been available before.
