Ras Al Khaimah Police (RAK Police) has announced that it has assigned 72 awareness-raising traffic patrols to travel all roads and residential neighborhoods in the emirate to transmit messages about the importance of adopting safety precautions to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
Interacting with community members, the police patrols are distributing posters written in four languages – with their messages including “Stay at home” – to emphasize the public on the importance of staying indoors and maintaining social distancing for the good of public health.
RAK Police’s awareness campaign is being conducted to urge the community to adhere to the instructions and guidance issued by the UAE’s health and security authorities, the foremost of which are to avoid gatherings and to not leave the house except where absolutely necessary for work or to buy food or medicine.
Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander in Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, praised the precautionary and preventive measures that have been taken by the government to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. He also applauded the Ministry of Interior for its efforts to support different entities in raising awareness about the Coronavirus and its symptoms, in addition to its effective role in correcting false information about the condition.
The major pointed out that Ras Al Khaimah Police has implemented a series of educational measures through its social media platforms to raise awareness about the Coronavirus, also known as Covid-19. These have been designed to work in unison with its patrols throughout the emirate that are delivering the messages of precautions and prevention that the public are required to follow.
