Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Etihad Water & Electricity

As part of its endeavor to strengthen joint cooperation and achieve the desired institutional integration with all public and private sectors, RAK Transport Authority “RAKTA” signed a joint memorandum of understanding with Etihad Water and Electricity, aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability, in which Etihad Water and Electricity is installing electric-powered vehicle charging devices at a number of RAKTA’s sites.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of RAKTA by H.E Eng. Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, the General Manager, and H.E Eng. Salim Mohamed Bin Reabeah, Executive Director of Electricity Directorate on behalf of Etihad Water and Electricity, through video technology, with the presence of a number of officials.

In this regard, Al Blooshi confirmed that the signature of this memorandum is in line with RAKTA’s strategy and its fourth goal “sustainability”, which aims to improve sustainable transport services in accordance with the best international standards and strengthen strategic partnerships with the public sector to achieve Ras Al Khaimah Vision 2030.

For his part, Bin Reabeah said that this memorandum aims to expand the scope of reliance on electric-powered vehicles as a sustainable strategic alternative to conventional vehicles, and comes – like other similar memorandum of understanding with a number of government and private agencies at the state level – as part of the Etihad Water and Electricity efforts to contribute In achieving one of the most important axes of the UAE Vision 2021, which is a “sustainable environment and an integrated infrastructure.”
