H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, emphasised the importance of promoting sustainability in the travel and tourism sector and preserving the natural environment during his address at the opening of the 10th Arab Aviation Summit. These efforts are integral to Ras Al Khaimah’s strategic and comprehensive development plans for the Emirate, he noted.
The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah also highlighted that these sustainability initiatives are in line with the UAE’s long-term goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, with the aim of creating a prosperous future for future generations.
The Arab Aviation Summit, held at Al Hamra International Exhibition & Conference Centre, is focusing on the theme of ‘Impactful Sustainability in Modern-day Travel and Tourism’ and is being held in Ras Al Khaimah for the third consecutive year. Over 600 aviation experts and several attendees from various sectors across the region and the globe are participating in the summit.
H.H. Sheikh Saud expressed Ras Al Khaimah’s active participation in local, regional, and global efforts to address challenges and explore opportunities in the travel and tourism sector while maintaining sustainable economic and tourism growth at the core of its planning.
Hosting the Arab Aviation Summit for the third time, he said the event reflects the Emirate’s confidence in its ability to partner with other entities to bring about positive change in the travel industry globally and to consolidate Ras Al Khaimah’s position as a leading regional destination for sustainable tourism.
H.H. Sheikh Saud called for more concerted efforts to drive sustainability in the travel sector, which is a vital engine of development. He underlined the importance of embracing advanced technological innovations and launching initiatives that enhance sustainability and make positive contributions to address climate change issues.
The Arab Aviation Summit, organised in partnership with the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, will feature interactive discussion sessions and keynote speeches on carbon neutrality concepts in the aviation and travel sectors. The event will also explore the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities to drive growth and development in the field.
