H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, held high-level discussions with the Mayor of Foshan, Bai Tao, and Foshan Government leaders to gain insight into the city’s development and explore bilateral trade and investment opportunities between Ras Al Khaimah and Foshan, which is known for its ceramics and electronics industries.

The meeting focused on ways to enhance cooperation across a number of sectors, such as ceramics, textiles, food processing and electronics, all of which are major industries in Foshan.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Saud invited the Mayor and Foshan Government officials to visit Ras Al Khaimah to strengthen mutual understanding and promote further collaboration.

Sheikh Saud said, “Our vision is of a future that embraces technological advancement, empowers our people and engages nations of the world to achieve development that is both sustained and sustainable. Ras Al Khaimah is committed to deepening its cooperation with the cities of Guangdong Province, where we see immense potential in strengthening our partnerships and exploring new opportunities to drive innovation and contribute to mutual progress.”

Foshan, a city of about 9.5 million people, is adjacent to Guangdong’s provincial capital, Guangzhou, and is famous for its ceramic art, Cantonese opera and martial arts.
