Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and a number of high-profile officials, today attended the opening of the 17th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum, which began at the Al Hamra Convention Centre in Ras Al Khaimah today, marking the first time the event has been held in the Middle East.

Organised by the Association Conoscere Eurasia, in partnership with the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry under the theme ‘The new architecture of cooperation for the contemporary economy’, the forum brings together leaders from the Government and Private sectors, as well as experts and journalists from across Europe and Asia, along with representatives of the Eurasian Economic Union, to discuss critical opportunities for economic collaboration.

H.H. Sheikh Saud asserted that, “We, in the UAE, recognise that progress does not occur in a vacuum – it is a shared journey. We believe that partnership is the key to advancing humanity.”

“Hosting such a prominent event here in Ras Al Khaimah offers an ideal opportunity for enabling closer cooperation and practical collaboration, laying the foundation for stronger cultural, trade and business ties, and paving the way to a more sustainable and prosperous future for all,” H.H. Sheikh Saud added.

The forum’s agenda features a series of engaging discussions covering various topics over the course of two days, from the UAE’s role in advancing economic cooperation in the region to the relationship between energy and the environment.

Topics also include the evolution of financial and banking markets, the challenges posed by new technologies, the ongoing industrial revolution in manufacturing, food security and combating desertification and the importance of social development as a condition for a more inclusive economy.

The event also includes cultural initiatives such as an exhibition on Italian craftsmanship, a film festival dedicated to Italian and Russian cinema and a classical music concert.
