This New Year’s Eve camp in Ras Al Khaimah to enjoy amazing family activities ahead of the mesmerising fireworks display

Ras Al Khaimah is the place to be this New Year’s Eve as the Emirate prepares to welcome visitors from around the UAE and across the world for its spellbinding fireworks display to usher in 2022 alongside a wide range of family-oriented activities ahead of the pyrotechnic show.

The Organising Committee for the Ras Al Khaimah New Year’s Eve celebration (#RAKNYE2022), working with the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis & Disaster Management and the Ministry of Health & Prevention, is rolling out a range of activities suitable for the whole family – all to be organised as per safety protocols.

This year, visitors will not only have a chance to watch the spectacular 12 minutes fireworks display featuring pyro-drones in myriad colours and shapes to welcome the New Year but can also set up tents at a dedicated camping area. To reserve, please visit raknye.com.

Campers are welcomed from Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 12 noon until post the celebrations on Saturday, January 1, 2022. On stage entertainment, food trucks, kids areas, market area and DJs will be spread out between Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra Village area.

There will be two viewing areas between Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra Village that will host spectators following all safety precautions and social distancing. One of these viewing areas will be ticketed.

To add to the convenience of the visitors, there will be 15,000 parking spaces near the viewing/events areas. Access to the viewing areas will be easy through Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road (E 311) and Emirates Road (E611) for those who are arriving from Dubai and by Sheikh Mohamed Bin Salem Road (E11) for visitors from Ras Al Khaimah and the other Emirates. The grand fireworks, one of the largest and longest in the UAE, will last for 12 minutes, and is set to break two Guinness World Records. The display will be accompanied by a crescendo of modern and dynamic music to reflect the world’s new spirit of optimism.

Building on feedback from visitors, we are also offering additional activities this New Year including the opportunity to set up tents and enjoy the festivities for a longer period in a safe, festive environment. The event will further elevate the reputation of Ras Al Khaimah as the must-visit destination to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Every aspect of the celebration is being undertaken to the highest standards of safety to ensure the well-being of our visitors.”

Ras Al Khaimah had welcomed 2021 with a dazzling 10 minute fireworks show that underlined the UAE’s message of hope, peace and achievements. Ras Al Khaimah also made history with the New Year’s Eve Gala of 2020, which won the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ titles for the ‘Most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for Launching Fireworks Simultaneously’ and the ‘Longest Fireworks Waterfall.’ The Emirate secured two GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ for the ‘Longest chain of fireworks’ and the ‘Longest straight line of fireworks with the 2019 New Year’s Eve Fireworks.
