Ras Al Khaimah’s ‘Himaya’ (Protection) security system – a joint effort between Ras Al Khaimah Police and the General Resources Department – has been awarded the ISO 10006: 2017 certificate for implementing quality management in projects – the first time ever an ISO certificate has been awarded for a joint project between a police force and a civil entity.

Himaya obtained the globally-accredited certificate for having applied the highest quality specifications and standards in the management of joint projects.

The certificate was received by His Excellency Major-General Ali Abdullah Bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police and His Excellency Brigadier Jamal Ahmad Al Tair, head of the General Resources Department, in the presence of representatives from SGS Gulf Ltd (the ISO certificate company), a number of officers and employees of Ras Al Khaimah Police, and members of the General Resources Department.

“This certification will enhance the sustainability and quality of joint government project management and is a distinguished acknowledgment of the work of both entities,” said His Excellency Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al-Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police.

His Excellency Jamal Al-Tair praised the global achievement, which he said was the culmination of efforts between Ras Al Khaimah Police and the General Resources Department. He highlighted that this was based on the wise leadership’s aspiration to encourage cooperation between all police and security entities and to use human resources and intellectual creativity to create major achievements that will lead Ras Al Khaimah to global first positions in all fields and disciplines.

“Ras Al Khaimah Police is taking a steady and confident step in police performance governance in various sectors, from the vision and strategy of the Ministry of Interior, aiming to ensure the highest provision of all administrative services. This is in accordance with the very best standards of quality, efficiency and transparency. This ISO certificate represents the consolidation of a culture of innovation and knowledge in the institutional work environment, and the strengthening of strategic partnerships to ensure the achievement of the national agenda and a high ranking across all important indices,” His Excellency Jamal Al-Tair said.
