59% of the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority’s Fleet to be Eco-Friendly by End of 2019

The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority announced that 59% of its fleet will be eco-friendly by the end of 2019, as part of its plan and ongoing efforts to enhance quality of life in the emirate, in line with its strategic ‘Sustainable Transport’ initiative.

The initiative is part of the Authority’s commitment to promoting Ras Al Khaimah as a preferred destination for living and for tourism; it was designed to effect positive change in the emirate’s health, economic, and environmental sectors, reducing carbon emissions by 4,695 tons and cutting fuel consumption by 44%.

Ras Al Khaimah’s transport sector is witnessing a significant improvement in the level of services offered, stemming from the uptick in demand for convenient public transportation, which, in turn, reflects the progress taking place across all business sectors.
