A delegation from Ras Al Khaimah Police, comprising officers from the Community Police Department, paid a visit to St Mary’s & Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church in Ras Al Khaimah, with the representatives headed by first Lieutenant Rashid Al Habsi, Director of Community Relations at the Community Police Department.
The delegation was welcomed by priest Paula Al-Orchlimy and number of members of the church. After discussing mutual concerns, the group agreed to co-organize a series of awareness lectures at the church and to participate in various events and occasions across RAK. The police delegation also expressed an interest in visiting other churches and holy places soon.
“Meetings with different sections of the community from across the religious spectrum are very important for us to spread our message of togetherness and to be ambassadors for our culture of tolerance in RAK,” said Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammed Al Salhadi, Director of the Community Police Department.
For his part, priest Paula Al-Orchlimy said: “We appreciate the determined efforts of RAK Police to enhance security in our community and are extremely grateful for the diverse services they offer to all people of every color, culture and creed in RAK.”
