The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Headquarters has launched an initiative to allow inmates at penal and correctional facilities to accompany their children on the first day of the new school year. The program takes advantage of advanced police surveillance systems, whereby participating inmates are required to wear electronic tracking bracelets.
Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, said: “The initiative seeks to strengthen family and community bonds, spreading happiness among inmates at penal and correctional facilities, and enhancing social cohesion.”
Maj. Gen. Al Nuaimi went on to explain that the program takes advantage of advanced electronic bracelets that allow for tracking participating inmates’ movements, making the implementation of the initiative possible.
