Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation Launches New Artist-in-Residence Program

18 August 2019

The Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation has launched its new Artist-in-Residence program to support the burgeoning arts scene in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and empower local emerging talent.

The program provides opportunities for local and international artists to produce new works and engage in cultural exchange with the RAK community, in addition to a hosted exhibition in the Foundation’s Studio and Gallery. The submission deadline was set for August 31, 2019, and more information is available on the Foundation’s website.

Furthermore, the Foundation issued an extended call for submissions for two of its other arts and culture initiatives: the Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival and the Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival Film Grant.

Now in its 8th edition, the Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival (RAKFAF 2020) bears the theme ‘Connected Communities’ and explores the many ways people build relationships with others, their surrounding environments, and the natural world. Meanwhile, the Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival Film Grant provides modest start-up funding for filmmakers to create short documentaries and films.

To submit an application for participation, or for more information, please visit the official website of the Festival, www.rakfinearts.ae, or the Foundation’s website.
