Bangladeshi K-12 Community School Expands to RAKEZ Academic Zone

19 September 2019

Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has announced the relocation of the Al Bangladeshi English Private School to its Academic Zone, a community school that has been offering affordable tuition fees in Ras Al Khaimah since 1991. The larger school facility will be constructed on an 8,170-mland in Al Mamourah, Ras Al Khaimah.

The expansion of the Bangladeshi Government-financed K-12 school was triggered by the continuously growing demand from students in the emirate. On its new location, the school will be able to accommodate a maximum of 1,000 students, adding 58% more in capacity, from 550 students currently.

The school is expected to open its doors to students on March 2020, as tribute to the 100th birthday of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Founding Father of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

A signing ceremony for the establishment of the new school facility was held at RAKEZ headquarters between the economic zone’s Group CEO Ramy Jallad and His Excellency Muhammad Imran, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the UAE, in the presence of the RAKEZ Academic Zone team, His Excellency Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan, Consul General of Bangladesh Consulate in Dubai, and other high-profile Bangladeshi delegates.

“Bangladesh and the UAE enjoy excellent bilateral relations and Bangladeshis in the UAE are contributing towards the developments of both countries. I hope that the collaboration between Al Bangladeshi English Private School, Ras Al Khaimah, and RAKEZ would help to establish a quality school that will remain as a testimony of our friendship – the foundation of which was laid by the two outstanding leaders, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan of the UAE, and the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” said HE Muhammad Imran.

Commenting on the addition of the school to RAKEZ Academic Zone family, Mr Jallad said: “We are very pleased to welcome Al Bangladeshi English Private School to the growing family of international and high-quality educational institutions we have at RAKEZ Academic Zone. We are committed to attract more schools, universities and training institutions to our ecosystem as well as support their growth at each stage of development. Our aim is to provide more options for education to our learners in the emirate and help enhance Ras Al Khaimah’s livability even further, which is in line with Ras Al Khaimah Vision 2030 of becoming an ideal live, work and play destination.
