H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, stressed that Ras Al Khaimah prioritises the development of the education sector, noting his keenness to create an advanced educational infrastructure to train the emirate’s human resources.

Sheikh Saud made this statement while inaugurating the Saqr Library and the Abdullah bin Ali Al Sharhan College of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, with the attendance of Mohammed Omran Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, and several senior officials at the university.

Sheikh Saud stressed that education is the cornerstone of development, the standard for national progress and the platform for building a better future for generations to come, adding that the inauguration of the Saqr Library and the Abdullah bin Ali Al Sharhan College of Arts and Sciences at the American University is a key step towards empowering citizens and providing them with knowledge and the necessary skills.

The library is a key beacon of light that commemorates the legacy of the late Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, documenting his contributions to supporting the emirate’s education process, he stressed. He has devoted his life to enhancing the quality of life of Ras Al Khaimah’s citizens and strengthening the emirate’s education system, he added.

He then lauded the initiative of Abdullah bin Ali Al Sharhan in supporting education in the emirate, noting that nations prosper as a result of the giving of loyal citizens who positively contribute to their communities.

Sheikh Saud toured the library and faculty and was briefed about its contents and the faculty’s role in supporting the emirate’s higher education system.
