His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, said that the UAE Armed Forces has proven that it can protect the country from any attack.
In a statement to ‘Nation Shield’, the UAE’s military journal, marking the 43rd Anniversary of the UAE’s Armed Forces Unification Day, to be celebrated on Monday, 6th May, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr said, “Today, we are celebrating the 43rd anniversary of the creation of UAE Armed Forces, which is the country’s first line of defense and a symbol of loyalty, giving, belonging, union and pride of the Emirati people. The union of the UAE Armed Forces, on 6th May 1976, under one central command, one flag and one slogan, is a historic occasion, and has become the cornerstone of the country’s security and stability, and ensured the country’s achievements and development.
“The UAE Armed Forces is the nation’s shield against its attackers, and its personnel are ready to defend their country. We thank them for our stability, peace and development.”
His Highness added, “We are proud of the regional achievements of our armed forces and its efforts to help the needy and aggrieved. Its missions outside the UAE are characterized by morals and efficiency, while working in all situations and conditions. Our personnel have proven their merit and professionalism, whether by helping others or in international peace and security operations in areas of conflict, wars and disasters, presenting an honorable image of the UAE’s children.
“The development witnessed by the UAE Armed Forces is due to the leadership of my brother, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who has made the military the country’s main protector, as well as my brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who has prioritized our military personnel, who are renowned today for fighting in the name of legitimacy and justice, and advanced the stature of our armed forces.”
“We will not forget the sacrifices of the nation’s martyrs, who defended the country by standing against its aggressors, highlighting the bravery of the UAE’s military personnel and their desire to do what is right. We will also not forget our soldiers in the fields of battle who are continuing the journey of our martyrs, until we achieve victory and return legitimacy, security and safety to the people of Yemen,” Sheikh Saud concluded.
